I chose Ferndale 25 years ago because it was centrally located, a small town with the big city cultural activities nearby.
I chose my neighborhood because everywhere I looked, people were working on their homes.
I chose my house because it has real wood around the doors and windows.
It provided my daughter and I with a community that is like family.
My parents raised me to be involved and volunteering. Being self-
My involvement included / includes the Ferndale Historical Society, the Ferndale Rotary Club, the Downtown Development Authority (DDA), and the Ferndale School District, Affirmations, plus many less formal activities.
I was honored in 2010 by Citizens for a Fair Ferndale and in 2012 by the DDA.
I led the push to put the question of a Charter Revision Commission on the ballot
in 1996. It passed and I was the top vote-
I chaired it for two years, working hours after each meeting to pull together our work for the consultant, so we rarely needed to pay him to drive from Flint for our meetings.
In 2013, I am Running for Mayor.
